Fidelis Usque Ad Mortem
On the 24th of April, 1964, The Old Ivanhoe Grammarians Football Club took to the field for the first time in the VAFA.
The club’s early years were challenging, but by 1968, OIGFC had achieved its first major success, winning the E Grade premiership in the VAFA (Victorian Amateur Football Association).
Over the decades, the club grew stronger, expanding its teams and achieving further premierships in various grades.
The Old Ivanhoe Grammarians Football Club was founded to unite alumni of Ivanhoe Grammar School with a passion for Australian Rules Football. Our mission is to provide a supportive environment where players, coaches, and supporters can thrive, while promoting values of respect, teamwork, and excellence both on and off the field.
Today, OIGFC remains a proud community of players, supporters, and alumni, with a rich history of football excellence and a commitment to fostering sportsmanship and camaraderie.

The Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) is the largest senior community Australian rules football competition in Victoria.
Founded in 1892, it consists of six senior men’s and women’s divisions ranging from Premier to Division 3. In addition, the VAFA has under-19s and thirds sections.
OIGFC competes in the VAFA, one of the most competitive and respected amateur football leagues in Victoria.
Over the years, we have secured multiple premierships, with our most recent triumph in 2023 with the Seniors, Reserves and U19s all winning the premiership.
